Under bench filtration treats water at a single point, usually the kitchen sink, and delivers it through its own dedicated tap. On a property supplied by tank or bore water, that means the water you actually drink and cook with gets treated at the point you use it, without needing to filter what feeds the shower, laundry, or hot water cylinder as well. The system sits out of sight in the cabinet under your sink, connected to your tank or bore supply line, with just the new tap visible on the bench.
Does Under Bench Filtration Need UV Too?
It depends on your water source. Tank and bore water can carry bacteria that a treated town supply wouldn't, and that risk doesn't go away just because you're only treating one tap instead of the whole property.
Tank Water
Collects sediment, leaves and other matter, UV disinfection is often recommended alongside filtration.
Bore Water
Varies by depth and location, whether UV is needed depends on what we find when we assess it.
If UV disinfection is something your water needs, it can be fitted as part of an under bench system, sized for the one tap rather than the whole house. We assess this as part of recommending your system, rather than assuming either way.
